1. Three things I learned in this class:
-
I learned how to use the SEO and Readability analyses effectively.
-
I learned how to correctly set up my pages and posts to tailor them to what I need for my business.
-
I learned how to use plugins and media to make my website stand out and really hone in on what I want for my business and how I want it to look.
2. Two things I wish we had more time to learn:
-
I wish we had more time to learn about more plugins and how they can be helpful in certain scenarios and businesses.
-
I wish we had more time to learn about more Themes and how they can change the full look of our websites.
3. Expectations vs. reality:
After taking my previous Intro to web development class, I assumed this class would be similar, with more of the backend coding involved. Now, having gone through the class, I realize that it emphasized not just coding, but also understanding the overall structure of websites, user experience, and best practices for web design and maintenance. I learned that web development involves a balance of both technical skills and strategic planning, and that even small details, like accessibility and website security, are crucial for creating functional and user-friendly websites.
